About us

A country house that became a home

Wispington House has cared for older people on Mill Lane in Saxilby since 1985.

Our promise

Every resident lives in a safe and comfortable environment, treated with respect and equality.

That sentence has been our care philosophy since the beginning, and it is deliberately plain. It means a resident decides when to get up, what to wear and whether they want to join in. It means a care plan built around their requirements and preferences, giving them choice in every part of their daily routine. And it means their family and friends are welcome, and we work around the times that suit them.

We are a residential home, not a nursing home. That means our team provides personal care and support around the clock, working closely with district nurses, GPs and community teams for anything clinical. Where someone's needs change, we will always tell you honestly and early rather than letting a situation drift.

Quality here is checked from outside as well as in. We use an independent quality assurance system alongside our own auditing, and we are inspected and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

We treat every resident like family.

Rooms

Your room, furnished your way

All of our rooms are decorated and maintained to a high standard, with a call system, comfortable seating and space for the furniture, pictures and photographs that make a room feel like yours.

We encourage residents to bring their own things. A favourite armchair, a bedside lamp, the dog's photo — the details are what turn a room into somewhere you recognise when you wake up.
