A proper break, for everyone
Short stays from a single night to several weeks, with the same 24-hour care and company our permanent residents enjoy. At short notice where we can.

When respite care helps
Carers need a break, and sometimes they need one at no notice at all. Families use respite at Wispington House:
- While the person caring at home goes on holiday or has a rest
- After a stay in hospital, before going home
- When a family carer is unwell or has an operation
- As a gentle way to try a care home before deciding on a permanent move
Many of our permanent residents came to us first for a fortnight while a daughter or son went on holiday.
24-hour care
Help with washing and dressing, medication, continence support and everything else a permanent resident receives, from a permanent staff team.
Home cooking and company
Three meals a day cooked on site, activities seven days a week, the conservatory, the garden and plenty of people to talk to.
Hair salon on site
Our on-site hairdresser is open to respite guests too, and everyone stays in a furnished room with a hospital bed and a call system.
How to book respite care
Call the home on 01522 703012 and tell us the dates and a little about the person. We will let you know what we have available, arrange an assessment so we understand their needs, and put a short care plan in place before they arrive. Where we can, we will help at short notice.
Respite is available for people living with dementia as well as for residential care. If a full stay isn't needed, day care may suit you better.
Wispington House is on Mill Lane in Saxilby, six miles north-west of Lincoln off the A57. Families come to us from Saxilby, Lincoln, Gainsborough, Skellingthorpe, Sturton by Stow, North Hykeham and villages across West Lindsey.
